  • CNN / setup.news: 29,001 between 17:00 and 17:05 and 5,329 later, ending at 19:06. BPMoney: a separate analysis covering 497,897 sections, including 4,655 confirmations then awaiting validation. The counts have not been reconciled.
  • 35,521 is 0.8% of Lula’s margin. Even if every one of them were a Lula vote and you removed them all, he would still lead by 4,394,670. That assumes the analysis caught every late vote, and it doesn’t capture indirect effects of the decision.
  • People in line at 17:00 already had the right to vote (TSE rule). Log timestamps reveal neither the chosen candidate nor when someone joined a queue.
  • Update: on 26 October, CNN reported, citing campaign members, that Flávio dropped the proposed vote-annulment request and would pursue alleged campaign abuses instead. These are allegations, not adjudicated facts.
